Ken Casavant


Received Bachelor and Masters in Agricultural Economics from North Dakota State University and Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from WSU. A nationally renowned transportation economist and Professor, he has received several teaching and research awards throughout his 32 year tenure, including being named “Distinguished Scholar” by the Western Agricultural Economics Association in 2003. He directed the successful Eastern Washington Intermodal Transportation Study (EWITS) and was instrumental in shaping the scope and direction of the Strategic Freight Transportation Analysis study. He also serves as WSU's Faculty Athletic Representative to the President.

Eric Jessup

Eric Jessup


Received Bachelor and Masters in Agricultural Economics from the Univesity of Kentucky and Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from WSU. He was directly involved in the Eastern Washington Intermodal Transportation Study (EWITS) and spent nearly four years managing new product launches within the International Risk Management group at American Express. He is currently Assistant Research Professor in the School of Economic Sciences at WSU, teaching and conducting research associated with freight transportation and logistics.
